This applies to our Telegram groups & channels, as well as our comment sections & replies on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc.
Ground Rules
Kindness first. Assume good in people, and guide rather than chastise.
Discrimination and hate speech has no place in our community and will not be tolerated.
“No” and “Stop” mean exactly that. Harassment of any kind is will not be tolerated.
Respect others boundaries. If someone does not wish to engage with you, don’t push it. For example - if someone isn’t responding to you, please don’t continue to @ or reply to them.
Don’t bring outside/interpersonal drama into chat. This includes pinging people to ask why they have blocked you. If there is a situation that you think the moderators need to know about, please ask to speak to a moderator in private.
No backseat moderation - please advise a moderator rather than telling people off directly. You may not be aware of previous discussions or agreements.
Restricted Content
The following are not allowed:
- AI generated images or content
- Links to live streams
- Discussion or sharing of illegal material, substances, or actions.
- Discussion of politics, religion, or other topics likely to create strongly emotional and divisive opinions. There are dedicated groups for this discussion if required
- Vague references or allusions to NSFW subjects. If it’s not something you can say directly, it doesn’t belong in chat. SFW means SFW.
The following should be posted in moderation/with limit:
- Sharing of videos, art, or other content you have created - an occasional post is fine, but you will be warned if this starts to veer into advertising.
- No excessive shitposting. The odd pic is fine, but don’t make it a daily habit.
- No spamming of animated telegram emojis (casino, darts etc). A few is okay, but when the whole chat joins in it gets over the line.
Advertising
Commisions/Sales
No advertising commissions, merch, art, or any other products or services except if:
- You are an approved Dealer at an upcoming FurcoNZ event
- You were an approved Dealer at a FurcoNZ event that ended within the last 30 days
Groups
No advertising of other chat groups or social media pages. Exceptions will be agreed to by the moderation team. If someone is looking for local groups, the regional New Zealand SFW groups are all considered permitted, along with the national NZ Furs SFW group.
Other Events
No advertising other conventions without permission from the moderation team. For avoidance of doubt, mentioning of conventions or discussing where you’re going is NOT considered advertising.
Moderation
The moderation team reserve the right to require proof of ID or vouching for any person at any time. This is intended to be used primarily for cases where we receive complaints of suspicious behaviour.
You may request any moderation action be reviewed if you believe a decision was made in error.
Access to the chat groups and social media pages is a privilege not a right. Moderators may issue warnings, restrict participation, or remove members if behaviour does not align with these expectations. Serious or repeated issues may result in immediate removal.
Changes to This Policy
We may update or revise this policy at any time. Any changes will take effect immediately once they are posted on this website. It is your responsibility to check this page regularly for any modifications or updates.
